Babson travels to Lancaster, PA this weekend to kickoff the Spring Season in the Frostbite 7’s, the first Premier Division Qualifier Tournament in the Northeast. Last year, as a Division III team, Babson stunned the Collegiate Rugby World by winning the tournament against all Division I schools, then winning the Old Blue Tournament and finishing 2nd in the Monumental 7’s in Quincy, MA. Babson turned in a remarkable 3rd Place finish in the College Rugby Championship Premier Division Tournament in Boyds, MD in April last year.
This year, in an unprecedented move, Babson has elevated to Division IAA from Division III, and will compete in the Liberty Division for Spring 7’s and Fall 15’s for the first time. However, the team is still aiming to compete in the Premier Division tournaments and make their return trip to the Premier Division Championship Tournament at the end of April.
