Remembering Marcos Flegmann, 2012

Ken Jasper - January 19th, 2021

On December 21, 2020, Marcos Flegmann lost his courageous battle with cancer and Babson Rugby lost a great friend and its most accomplished rugger.

More will be written about Marcos, but after his Babson years, he recorded 14 official caps with the Mexico Serpientes, Mexico’s National Rugby Union Team. He also played with Argentina during the Maccabiah Games, and played with Mystic River Rugby Club, the USA Premier League 2016 National Champions.

Marcos made an impact wherever he played and with whomever he knew. He was a humble giant with an absolute love for life. He was inducted into BURC’s Hall of Fame in October, 2019 and we will miss him dearly.

It is our hope to honor and celebrate the incredible life Marcos lived. Working with Babson College, the Marcos Flegmann Champion of Life Fund has been established, with a lofty goal (the way Marcos would aim)! A designation has yet to be established and will be determined by the funds raised.

For questions or to learn more about making a multi-year commitment to support this fund, please reach out to Kendall Kellaway directly or a member of the Babson Advancement Staff.
