The Spring 2017 Team was a pivotal club in the move towards its current prominence in 7's competition. They were the first team to travel with Coach Pell on a Spring Break Trip and lost only to the USA Stars (Development team for USA Eagles) in the championship match. The Club took that experience to return to the NSCRO National Championships in Philadelphia, PA and improved from a 6th Place Finish in 2016 to a 4th place finish in 2017. The team was highly organized on and off the pitch and had 10 players selected to the USA Rugby Academic Honor Roll. The team's culture moved towards a more professional stature and left some of the traditional social practices behind them to do so. That commitment and those achievements had begun the rise towards the current prominence in 7's competition for Babson Rugby.
